The Plants are outrageous...

Plant work offers a mirror directly to our souls.

A tree or plant, is a being, in deep and intrinsic relationship to the universe; rooted into earth, receiving energy directly from the sun...a simultaneously grounded and cosmic dance.

As are we.

They call us into our own nature, of following instinct and reciprocating energy with all that's around us.

My work is in service of this potential.
To listen, reflect, alchemise and embrace what comes through.

Come on in...

...to the house of alchemy!

Me, us, and the plants.

They really ARE outrageous...

shapeshifting,

time bending,

universe skipping beings.

As for me, I'm a herbalist, artist, alchemist, along for the ride and still learning!

According to our western world structures, I am a white, british (with a pinch of irish and scottish),  queer, neurodivergent, disabled, non-binary woman...mostly all things I celebrate about myself (except f*ck the coloniser creation of whiteness & supremacy, I will celebrate the composting of that.)

I love this land I live on, and many of the people on it. I love being "different", wildly empathetic, in constant awe of our existence and the life around us. 'm grateful that my physicality won't let me "push through", perform "goodness" or "success" or pretend. I thrive living outside of binary boxes, and I am well aware of the pain it can cause to try to live inside one.

Letting ourselves, gently and slowly, or in a giant leap, live outside of these boxes can lead to our biggest, silliest, most brilliant selves. It's my experience that this is what the plants want for us, to discover the depths and breadths of our imaginations, intuitions, desires and abilities to embrace and enjoy life, as connected to and interwoven with existence as they are.*

*and wouldn't that just ruin the stronghold that capitalist, imperialist, patriarchal greed is desperately clinging to?

Growing up, I watched adults, learning how to be welcomed, accepted, loved.

I was a highly functioning human being, but my intuition was wondering what else there was, what depths there were beyond this. I loved being with people; connection, community, celebration, and I love people even more now. But I wasn’t being me, it seemed no one was being themselves, not really.

I always had a connection with the plants and trees, and an instinctual awareness that the relationship between people, plants and animals went deeper than anyone I knew talked about.

Over these years, conditioning crept in. I watched how people identified in comparison to one another, how they aligned with certain identities, and liked some people more than others. I saw that the person you were dictated the response you got, as we all diligently learned and took part, how some actions and ways of being led to friendships and care, and some led to being left out and dismissed. As we grow up, we try out different ways of dressing, of acting, and consciously or not, we reflect on the response we get, and adapt ourselves according to what result we want. Survival instincts in the new millennium.

I understand that conditioning now, through experience, research and study, as a way for those at the reigns of rule and culture, to make us easier to influence and bend at will. With a long and well established westernised culture that once was hard to see, and now erupts in front of us. A culture with safe sides and dangerous ones, with dividing identities and labels created by language.. Age, Race, Ethnic Origin, Gender, Sexuality, Neurotype, Class, (Dis)ability...

These times we're living in need us to get clear about what is ours and what is not, about what we were taught that serves power and oppression, and what we have learned that is true and generative and nourishing.

We need discernment, and the plants have that by the bucketload.

My journey so far wasn’t a simple or a gentle one, but, with each step towards what was calling, towards love, joy, pain or grief, through the conditioning, through the fires, I got clearer, I got better at navigating with openness and curiosity.

That’s the ride I’m still on, and I’m sticking to it.

That’s the ride I’m here to help others on, the reason I make plant medicines and walk this bridge between the worlds…

Our authentic, embodied and connected selves might not be pretty or presentable, but they are ours, and the plants are calling.

If you're still reading, and your intrigued, excited, if you're feeling a cauldron stir in your belly... come and see for yourself!
